Performance of Top Maps and Navigation Apps in Portugal Q1 2025

In the first quarter of 2025, the Maps and Navigation app landscape in Portugal displayed notable trends. According to Sensor Tower, the top five apps showed varied performance across downloads and active user metrics.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a consistent level of weekly downloads, starting from around 18.3K at the beginning of the quarter and settling around 12.8K by the end. Active users fluctuated, peaking at 1.4M in late March after a dip mid-quarter.

Uber - Request a ride saw a decline in weekly downloads from 15.7K to approximately 11.5K. However, its active user base remained robust, ranging between 679K and 819K, showing resilience in user engagement.

Similarly, Bolt: Request a Ride maintained a steady download rate around 10K weekly. Active users peaked at about 806K, reflecting a strong presence in the market.

Moovit: Your Transit Tracker demonstrated a stable revenue stream, reaching $1.5K towards the end of the quarter. Downloads saw a slight decrease to about 6.4K, while active users showed significant growth, peaking at 277K.

Finally, Comboios de Portugal maintained a consistent download rate around 5K, with active users peaking at 185K in late February.
